Why a link beats the back and forth
Every "does Tuesday work?" text is a chance for a lead to go quiet. A booking link ends the thread in one message: the customer picks a time that works for both of you, and it is on your calendar before you have read the reply.
It only works if the link knows when you are busy. So the first job is telling dOS which calendars to check.
Connect your Google Calendar
Click your avatar in the top right and open Calendar Accounts. Connect Google Calendar, sign in with the account you want bookings to land on, and approve the access prompt.
Then assign that calendar account to your venture, the brand these bookings are for. If you run more than one brand, each one keeps its own calendars and its own event types.
Tell it which calendars to check
In My Availability, open Calendar Settings. Two settings matter here, and they do different jobs.
Calendars to check for conflicts: add every calendar you use, work and personal. Your booking link only shows times you are free across all of them, so you are never double booked. Calendar to add events to: the one calendar where new meetings are saved.
Create an event type
Go to Operations, then Calendar, and create a new event type. Give it a name a customer will recognize, like Intro Call, set how long it runs and the hours you take it, and pick where it happens: Google Meet, a phone call, or in person.
If you pick a phone call, the customer has to leave a phone number before the booking goes through, so you always have a number to dial.
Choose who the customer is meeting
Participants is who the customer is booking time with. With only you selected, the link uses your availability and the meeting goes to your calendar. Add teammates and dOS checks each person's schedule and conflict calendars too.
With more than one participant, choose how they share it: collective, where everyone attends together, or round robin, where one person is assigned per booking. You do not need to add teammates as participants just so they can see or share the link. Everyone with access to the venture can.
Share it
Click Copy Link on the event type and send it anywhere: a text, your email signature, your website. The customer picks a time, enters their details and gets the invite.
The meeting lands on the calendar you picked, and you get an email the moment someone books. Prefer to be walked through it in the app? Open Operations, then Calendar, and click the mascot for the Calendar Tour.
