Why a conversation needs somewhere to go
Every text your business gets lands in the same list. A new lead asking for a price, a customer confirming Thursday, and a supplier chasing an invoice all look identical there: a name, a time, one line of preview.
That is fine at ten texts a day. At a hundred, the ones that matter sink under the ones that do not, and a lead that waited three weeks for a reply has usually gone with somebody else. The fix is not a better list. It is giving each conversation a place that says what it is.
Start in the inbox
Open Conversations. Everything is here, with the whole history attached to the person who sent it, and you can narrow the list to what is unread or pinned.
Do not go looking for the pipeline first. The move starts from the conversation, right where you are reading it.
Set a Target on it
A Target is the objective attached to that contact: win this quote, book this job. You set it on the conversation while you are in the inbox.
Setting one drops an event into the thread, so anybody on your team who opens the conversation later can see what it is for without asking.
Watch it move along your stages
Once a conversation has a Target, it lives on a pipeline as well as in the inbox. The stages are yours to name. A service business might run New lead, Quoted, Booked, Won.
Not every deal walks every stage, and it does not have to. A customer who books on the first call can go straight from New lead to Booked. The board shows where each deal really is, not the route you assumed it would take.
What changes once you do this
Follow up stops being a matter of remembering. Open the pipeline and the deals waiting on you are sitting in a column instead of scattered through a list of every text you have ever received.
Money is made on the follow up. This is how you stop losing it to a busy inbox.
See it on your own texts
A real person will walk you through it on a live board, with your kind of business in mind.
